Beaks exaggerated: struggle for survival

Puppies are completely dependent on their parents and instinctively open their hungry beaks as soon as one of the parents lands in the nest, certain that it's time to feed.
“I have a high art: I hurt with cruelty those who would wound me.” (Archilochus of Paros) Even though it may seem like an aggressive statement, in my view, it illustrates how artists, in general, possess limitless power that, when wielded thoughtfully, can offer our society critiques, suggestions, or guidance for the issues that afflict it.

Before starting to draw the birds, it was necessary to conceive a nest made from remnants that symbolized technology and a discarded appearance. Upon noticing various leftover wires accumulated from old household appliances repaired by my father, I decided to coil them to give the appearance of a nest. Immediately, I saw that the idea worked, and that tangle of wires became the nest for my family of birds.

To me, it's impossible to think of technology, whether low or high, without acknowledging its impacts on nature, regardless of the level at which this occurs or may occur. Humans are part of nature, even if we forget that most of the time, demonstrated through actions of neglect, whether they are as minimal as littering rivers or streams or using electricity, regardless of how it is produced.

Primarily, it's the entire waste that technology generates that directly brings harm to the environmental balance on all its survival scales.

The Rufous-bellied Thrush (Turdus rufiventris) was represented as a symbol of nature that does whatever it takes to survive. Ironically, due to its inability to differentiate between human waste and food, it becomes a victim of the remnants of an industrial production chain, instead of surviving naturally within the food chain in nature.
The production of the artwork occurred in stages but was entirely random concerning the parts that should have been worked on with textures. At times, in a certain part, I would start from light to dark, and in others, I would define areas with contrasting shadows, applying colors from dark to light on top.
Art is powerful and reinforces information. Therefore, I believe it's possible to draw attention to any social, economic, or environmental cause. I created the simulation below, envisioning to amplify the needs for action through a powerful vehicle with impactful visual information. Hope always.
